Lab of the Future

Under the European Solidarity Corps programme, managed by the National Agency Erasmus+ Youth in Action and coordinated by the Deão Youth Association, the Laboratory of the Future was created.

Behind the scenes we found 20 young people who developed a set of activities, throughout these 12 months, for young people with the aim of "thinking about the future", opening space for the construction of a laboratory of joint ideas that allowed to move from reflection to action!

The aim of this project is to promote the active participation of young people in society/community. With the activities that were developed, we intended to arouse and develop critical thinking in young people about the problems that affect society and the importance that their intervention can have in the community.

Job Trek

Job Trek is a European exchange, funded by the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme, promoted by AJD, which will be held in Viana do Castelo.

It aims to improve and develop skills and abilities that are fundamental to young people, increasing the probability of employability in the labour market; provide knowledge and learning of digital tools in order to create instruments that make the professional profile more attractive; promote mutual help, self-esteem, responsibility, autonomy, initiative and critical thinking, contributing to the acquisition of personal, social and professional skills; to make young people aware of the importance of their participation in the development of communities, stimulating creativity and entrepreneurship; to acquire and/or reinforce the participants' language skills; to raise awareness of European citizenship and sustainable growth; to promote interculturality, interreligious dialogue, freedom, tolerance and respect for human rights in youth and communities.

We count on the participation of young people from Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, Latvia, the Netherlands and Portugal to achieve these goals!

In addition to workshops on the theme, there will also be many intercultural, sporting, leisure, convivial and discovery of the territories.

Empower Youth

In the course of two years, AJD has teamed up with leading partner Consejoven (Spain), INNETICA (Spain) and Asociatia Centrul de Copii si Tineret Sfantul Sebastian (Romania), with the aim of encouraging young people to participate actively in society. This collaboration resulted in the development of a manual, translated into four languages, namely English, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian; and a collaborative online platform aimed at supporting a network of young people working with young people.

These materials aim to create, support and train a community of youth workers and youth leaders, boosting their active participation. It also aims to boost a network of active partnerships in the development of social entrepreneurship projects in communities in the different partner countries.

This project, EmpowerYouth, aims to create a community to combat misinformation for young people and youth workers at European level who share knowledge and experiences on participation, associations and social entrepreneurship in order to inspire other young people.

DAPY -Drug Abuse Prevention for Youth

Throughout 2020, the Deão Youth Association in Viana do Castelo (Portugal) has been working in partnership with Harran University (Turkey), Istanbul University (Turkey), Opole University (Poland) and Oslo University (Norway), in the development of a prevention programme for young people, victims of the world of drug trafficking. The programme includes the creation of a website, workshop, short film, online training and, above all, a prevention manual.

With this curriculum young people will have the opportunity to learn the facts about drugs, types of drugs, how drugs affect brain function, mental health and the body. It will help young people to have the opportunity to realise the immediate results of cannabis use.

A toolkit designed to raise young people's awareness of the impact of drugs, both personally and for society. This manual has been carefully designed to warn, prevent and end such practice.
