DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL INTERVENTION PROJECTS
COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Craft Workshop
In this workshop, young people learn to make handicrafts typical of their region, one of the privileged vehicles for exposing the identity of a group as opposed to a different one, allowing the appreciation of the values, traditions and cultures of the place where they belong. The young artisans have been present at Crafts Fairs, School Open Weeks and in youth exchange programmes, with a workshop where everyone can learn these crafts.
Theatre
AJD is dedicated to theatrical representation, considering this activity of great importance in the formation of youth, having already carried out various works (scenic presentations, street animation, animation of tertulia and training actions).
Cavaquinho Workshop
This AJD project aims to promote the taste for music, encourage the learning of the cavaquinho and foster intergenerationality, providing a healthy occupation of their free time.
Sport
In this area AJD promotes several activities every year - "pleasure of living with sport".
Animation
Throughout the years AJD has promoted numerous animation activities with a view to making their territories and their populations more dynamic, creating spaces of/for participation for the various intervention target groups, seeking to develop in them a more proactive attitude and greater citizenship and enabling them to get to know spaces that would otherwise be impossible.
Ludotheque
It is a recreational and cultural space, aimed at reading, the work of written, plastic and corporal expression, with a computer section and Internet access, being a meeting point for the community. It also encourages play as a form of learning. Pedagogical visits are organized for the people who frequent the space and commemorative events are celebrated. In addition to the actions listed, in this space, during school time, there is also a study accompaniment for children and young people.
Summer Camps
AJD Summer Camps are a leisure space for educational purposes where children and young people can freely develop their personal and social skills. The purpose of the holiday camps is to provide a healthy occupation of holidays through structured educational, cultural, sports and recreational activities, focusing on contact with nature. Non-formal education techniques are used in the holiday camps, seeking to stimulate in the participants the development of capacities and potentialities, with a view to further developing the autonomy, self-esteem and responsibility of children and young people.
